Sweetpea is amazing! I don't know if I'm ready to embark on training at this point as we're working on night-weaning, and we've got our hands rather full.

You know what I'd find interesting - a post on whether cloth-diapering really makes training easier. I always thought that was the case, but recently my friend who has done both said it was so much easier to train her disposable-diapered baby, because he hated the sensation of being wet, whereas the cloth-diapered baby was used to it and didn't mind wetting his pants. I suppose it could just come down to their individual personality traits though, like so much else.

Good for you, Rose!!! I'm so glad to hear that you have taken the plunge. It's addictive, watch out!

We love EC! I eased into it with Gabriel since the very beginning, first just letting him pee on prefolds as I nursed him, learning his timing and cues. After 1 month old we did put him on the potty first thing in the morning and then whenever he was in arms and started squirming or fussing - 80%+ of the time he would go pee and then be happy again! So amazing to communicate like this, save environmental resources AND get a happier baby in the bargain.

Gabriel still regularly poops first thing in the morning on the potty and will also pee when he's held on it either in the morning or after naps. It now helps to have a small toy or alarm clock for him to play with during that process! New challenges now that he's 11 months old: during the day he's pretty distracted a lot of the time, crawling and trying to walk and puts up a fuss being put on the potty.

We used it with our third and enjoyed it very much, were delighted to start and finish sooner than we had with traditional delayed toilet learning. And now 30 years later, our grandchild is using infant potty training too.
